Sturgeon is on at Brigham Fish Market in Cascade Locks.
Tilly Janes will be hosting a fundraiser for Terry Smith this weekend. (See poster below).
Don't you worry your little hearts out about Columbia Gorge Crepes. While Bobablastic is sitting where Columbia Gorge Crepes operated out of last year, the crepe cart still plans to re-open this spring in a new location.
White Salmon Baking Co. will be closed Feb 22nd- March 1st.
Working Hands/Slopeswell will now be closed Mondays. The new schedule is Wed-Sat 5pm-10pm, Sunday 3-8 pm. Closed Mon & Tue.
Mylan Wines will continue on. The owners moved to Boise but the business will continue on with its name and wines here in Hood River. A grand re-opening party is scheduled for Feb 25.
Hiyu Wine Farm has been named as a semifinalist in the 2022 James Beard Foundation Awards in the category of Outstanding Wine Program. There are 20 semifinalists in the category. Read more here.

where we ate this week:

Our girl scout cookie order came in (thanks Ross!!!). We got the usual suspects, plus the gluten-free toffee cookies, since we hadn't tried them. We loved them and are now hiding from Ross so that we don't buy more cookies.
Michelle, our favorite foodie friend, dropped by Grasslands for brunch. Her report: "Soooooo good." In the picture: eggs Benny, French toast, and grits.
We had an out of town visitor, so we stopped by Solstice for a little pizza and tiramisu. As always, Solstice came through with on-point flavors and that crispy wood-fired crust we love.
After some wine at Viento (which is selling its building. This weekend will be its last weekend open), we dropped by Riverside for some good ol' BOGO pasta. You can't go wrong when there's free pasta involved.

New business spotlight: misty tree coffee Company

Hood River has a new coffee roaster in town: Misty Tree Coffee Company. Opened in late 2021, the roastery focuses on providing organic, Fair Trade Certified coffee that is low in acidity.

The small-batch roastery does not have a storefront, but beans are available online for shipping at mistytreecoffeecompany.com. Owners Jill Stephens and her husband Scott are working to get their product in local stores.

Bobablastic franchise planning to open truck in hood river

Exciting news for boba lovers, Bobablastic is looking to open a food truck in Hood River. The truck is currently parked near the Hood River Cinemas and Pacos Tacos, where Columbia Gorge Crepes was open last spring and summer.

Grasslands BBQ: They be makin' hatch chile queso, pulled pork, burgers, and more! See the menu here. A tip from Hood River Eats: Order now because they ALWAYS sell out! Pick up your order on 2/12/22.
Fish People Seafood Hood River (13 Oak St) will be offering party platters. Pre-orders must be placed by 2/10. Options include a crab roll kit AND/OR crackers and dip. Call Fish People for more info (541) 436-3474.
Pacos Tacos will be offering catering. For the Super Bowl, they're offering a platter of 20 tacos for $45. Add sides for $10 each.
Feast Market in White Salmon has platters you can pre-order. Think: cookies, sandwiches, and cheese platters. Check out the full menu here. Orders due 48 hours before the event.

Where to order the day-of

Pizza Leona in White Salmon will be offering 2 for 1 pizzas (choose cheese or pepperoni). Caution: they plan to close early, at 6 p.m.

Valentine's Day 2022

Looking to eat out or order in for valentine's 2022?

Here's what we know so far:

Celilo, while usually closed Mondays, will be OPEN and serving dinner for Valentine's. Reservations are strongly encouraged. (541) 386-5710. The menu will be the normal menu with a few specials, TBD.
Broder Ost will be dipping into Valentine's dinner as well with a 6-course dinner with wine pairings (don't worry, if you're a DD or you don't drink, but your partner does, there are tickets available without drinks). We don't know the menu. Price is $300 per couple. Tickets are available at brodereast.com/vday-wine-dinner
Slopeswell Cider will be hosting a dessert pop-up with Rooted in the Gorge. Tickets are $20 and include 3 mini desserts and 3 beverage pairings. The event starts at 7:30 p.m. on Valentine's. Find more info and get tickets here.
The Hood River Distillers tasting room will be open Valentine's from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. and serving a chocolate and spirits tasting menu. Can't go Valentine's? No worries, the special is running from Feb 11-Feb 15.
Aniche Winery in Underwood will be open Valentine's Monday. Call for a reservation. $35 per person for non-members. Fried chicken is on the menu. We don't know much else, hold for more info! Reservations available here.
In the mood for an activity, but still want to eat? Gorge Provisions in The Dalles will be hosting an event where you can make art, drink, and snack on a charcuterie board for 2. Tickets are $75 per couple (click here).
Fish People Seafood will be offering a pre-order dinner. Order by 2/10. The kit (made for 2) includes crab cakes, oysters, linguine, shrimp, and scallops with pesto, remoulade, and mignonette. Add on dessert or wine. $49.99. Call (541) 436-3474 or visit in person to order.
Crush Cider Cafe will be hosting a 3-course meal for $50-$65. Find more information here.
Kickstand Coffee and Kitchen will be serving a prix fixe dinner, as well. Call for reservations. The menu includes two options for each course and is $55 for food with optional wine/champagne pairings at an extra cost. See the pink menu below.
