Exciting news for boba lovers, Bobablastic is looking to open a food truck in Hood River. The truck is currently parked near the Hood River Cinemas and Pacos Tacos, where Columbia Gorge Crepes was open last spring and summer. Gorge residents may recognize the company from the location in The Dalles on W 6th Street. The owners (Lisa and Son Nguyen) and menu will be the same as The Dalles location, which features both drinks and food. The chain boasts that over 6,000 drink combinations are possible. Food includes a mishmash of items like chili cheese nachos ($8 at the Dalles location), orange chicken, poke ($14), and hot dogs. This will be Nguyen's third location. She just opened a new location in Hermiston. Overall, the company has more than 30 locations in Oregon and Washington, with plans to expand to Hawaii, soon. It was founded in 2016. Nguyen shared that she's just awaiting an inspection. After that, she can open. We're hoping that means they will be open in the next few months. She noted that the location will accept cash, Apple pay, Android pay, credit, and debit. We'll keep you updated and shout when they're open! Want to learn more about boba? This article from Eater does a great job of explaining what it is and the history behind it. Opening photo courtesy of Dr. Leah Dash. Photo is from the Dalles location. The Hood River location is not open yet. Comments are closed.
