Happy Thursday! We have a few bits of local food news and info heading into this holiday weekend. 

• THE SMOKEJUMPER BURGER is a one-night-only specialty coming this Friday to Backwoods in the Gorge in support of the local fire district! A smoked burger with some heat! Hatch chile relish, cheddar, guacamole and chipotle aioli, finished with our house barbecue sauce and all the fixins! You don’t want to miss this one!
• Mount Hood BBQ will be at 1301 Steaks & Spirits Sports Bar all Memorial weekend, Thursday-Monday 11-6.
• Bamba’s Indian Food Bar in The Dalles is launching an Indian buffet during the lunch hours starting June 1.
• Don’t miss the Hood River grand opening/ribbon cutting of Kaile’a Coffee on May 31 at 10am. They will be offering acai bowl, maple bar, and liege waffle samples.
• Pre-orders for graduation cookies are available on Dani’s Kitchen Shop website.
• East Fork Baking is booked for June custom orders, and you should get your July orders in asap.
• Solstice will be open on Monday, May 29 from 11:30am – 8pm. Reservations are recommended, or arrive early to get ahead of the wait list.
• Lake Taco has extended their hours and are now open Sunday from 4pm-9pm.
• Cake lovers, take note – Lindsay Gott’s Icebox Bakery is rebranding as Gâteaux. The logo is new but the cakes and cookies are just as delicious and easy to bake. Find Gateaux locally at Treebird, Boda’s Kitchen, Mosier Market, and Fish People.
• Cor Cellars is hosting an Open House to celebrate their AGO wines on Sunday, May 28 from 3-7pm.
• May 26-29 The Pines is holding their Memorial Day Celebration Sale and new wine releases.
