Thursday Tidbits is Tuesday Tidbits this week. With the calendar about to turn, we wanted to share a little earlier so these New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day plans are easier to catch.
As we head into the New Year, we’re easing in with gratitude — for good food, familiar places, and the people who make our local food scene feel like home. We’re also excited to start another year with more seasonal stories, more local flavors, and more reasons to support the people feeding our community.
Thank you for being part of it. Here’s what’s happening as we turn the page to 2026:
Kickstand Coffee & Kitchen in Hood River is hosting a Champagne Brunch on Thursday, Jan 1, 2026, from 8 AM–1 PM. Enjoy cocktails and mimosas, Collage Bowl Games, and brunch specials. Open 8 AM - 9 PM both NYE and NYD.
pFriem Family Brewers will be open in Hood River Wed, Dec 31 until 4 PM, the Milwaukie tasting room is open until 9 PM. Both tasting rooms are open on New Year’s Day, 11:30 AM–9 PM.
Double Mountain Brewery will be open in Hood River until midnight on NYE. Regular hours on New Year’s Day.
Solstice Wood Fire Pizza will be open regular hours for NYE and New Year’s Day (Hood River Waterfront). They are celebrating the holidays with a nod to Pacific Coast shellfish season, and fresh clams are on their menu while they last. Check out their Willapa Bay Manila clams — steamed with white wine, garlic, lemon, and butter, served with house-made focaccia. A perfect pairing with a glass of Brut Rosé from Alsace.
Full Sail Brewing Co. will be open regular hours 11 AM to 9 PM New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. They are celebrating the last Communi Tuesday today for the Hood River Christmas Project, where a portion of today’s food and beer sales will support their vital work in our community. Henni’s Kitchen and Bar in White Salmon is hosting a NYE Pre Fixe Dinner with reservations available throughout the evening and featuring a curated wine pairing by Ally Van Dorsten, sommelier. Enjoy the sounds of Lydia Warren’s harp — and if you book early (around 5 PM), you might even win a door prize.
Riverside Hood River is ringing in the New Year with a special New Year’s Eve menu and 2-for-1 pasta both nights. Celebrate in the lounge until midnight and raise a glass to 2026.
Ferment Brewing Company (Hood River waterfront) is kicking off NYE with Trivia Bash at 6 PM, and the East Coast ball drop at 9 PM with a champagne toast. Open regular hours 11 AM–9 PM.
Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon is open NYE and celebrating with a New Year’s Eve Prime Rib Dinner starting at 4 PM until it’s gone. Come early, grab a pint, and treat yourself to a seriously delicious send-off to the year—open normal hours 11:30-9 PM.
Three Rivers Grill in Hood River is open from 11-9 New Year’s Eve and 11-8:30 New Year’s Day, and Sushi Okalani is also open regular hours (note their Rollover Maki is still on the special board). Reservations are filling up quickly.
Join Domaine Pouillon on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1st, from 10 to 3 PM. Take in the views and the best bird watching in the Gorge.
For breakfast and lunch, River Daze Café in Hood River will be open on New Year’s Day, 8 to 3, and serving mimosas plus biscuits and gravy.
On a sweet note, cold days deserve peppermint treats at Big Jim’s Drive In (Hood River and The Dalles). Simple, sweet, and meant to be shared, stop by to try their peppermint hot fudge sundae piled high with the works, or a thick peppermint shake.
