Welcome!
The Hood River Eats Blog began as a way to share with our local community which places were open and serving around town in 2020 during the dark days of the pandemic.
Five years later, our focus is still the same: to share all things food+drink in the Columbia River Gorge, Hood River, and the surrounding communities. From local restaurants, brew pubs, and wineries to farmers, orchards, and food makers, we’re here to help get the word out about what’s happening in our vibrant culinary scene. Whether it’s a new menu item, a Saturday market find, or a special food or drink-related event, we’ll share the latest so you don’t miss a bite.
Are you a local food maker or business owner with exciting news to share? Let us help spread the word. If you have a weekly or monthly special, a new product, a recipe, an announcement, or a food-related festivity, drop us a line at info@hoodrivereats.com.
Meet Chelsea Marr, Publisher
Hi, my name is Chelsea Marr, publisher and manager of Columbia Gorge News, a weekly printed newspaper and website, and The Gorge Magazine, a quarterly lifestyle publication.
I am excited that Hood River Eats has been added to our specialties in The Gorge family. Sharing food and drink news feels like a natural extension of what we love to do—connecting our community with all the exciting food- and drink-related happenings in the area.
I invite you to sign up for our newsletters, dive into our blog posts, and learn the latest about the delicious happenings around town. Whether you’re a food lover, a local grower, or just curious, we’ve got something tasty for you.
Happy Eating!
Meet Emily French,
Editor & Content Creator
Hi, I’m Emily—writer, editor, content creator, and a fan of all things delicious in the Columbia Gorge. Since November 2024, I’ve been sharing stories at Hood River Eats about the people, places, and plates that make this corner of the world so tasty—where food and community are connected by craft, care, and local flavor.
My goal is simple: to help you discover what’s fresh, what’s delicious, and what’s happening around town. Whether I’m writing up a Thursday Tidbits or posting about a standout summer cocktail, I try to keep it real, local, and helpful.
Thanks for reading and supporting what we do here. We love hearing from you—so if you’ve got a food tip, favorite spot, or food+drink-related event coming up, feel free to connect!
