Thursday Tidbits

Kickstand Coffee & Kitchen’s Breakfast Power Bowl

A mix of fresh menu finds, weekend openings, and a few Easter plans are taking shape around the Gorge.

Kickstand Coffee & Kitchen has a new Breakfast Power Bowl—packed with flavor and fuel to start your day right. Choose your protein: bacon, chorizo, or pork barbacoa. (HR)

Over at Double Mountain, there’s a new cider on tap: Eleanor, a Golden Russet single-varietal made with fruit from Swihart Orchards. Expect bright apple notes, a touch of honeydew sweetness, and a crisp, lightly tart finish. (HR)

Apple Valley Country Store is open weekends for the season (10 am–4 pm). A good excuse to swing by for a huckleberry milkshake and something fresh from the bakery. (HR)

Grasslands Barbecue will be at the Hood River waterfront on Saturday, starting at 11:30 am. This week’s specials include beef tongue asada, jerk chicken sausage, and Carolina pork hash. (HR)

Looking ahead, a few Easter and early April happenings to keep on your radar:

Cathedral Ridge Winery is hosting an Adult Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 (12–1:30 pm), with lunch from Cherry City Catering and a glass of wine included—reservations required. (HR)

Packer Orchards is now taking orders for Easter pies through March 30. Pickup will be on April 3 or 4 at the bakery. (HR)
Bakery hours: Thurs–Mon, 10–5
Farm stand: Sat–Sun, 10–5

Bargeway Pub in The Dalles is planning an all-you-can-eat Easter brunch buffet with everything from bone-in ham and breakfast favorites to bananas foster, French toast, and a full spread of desserts (plus a little something for the kids). (TD)

You’ll also find Easter brunch at Simon’s Cliff House (Columbia Gorge Hotel), Skamania Lodge, and Riverside at the BWPlus Hood River Inn. (HR)

Speaking of Riverside, they have a killer Beet Salad and their Broccolini dish is one of our faves. (HR)

And last, but not least, if you’re looking for something special this weekend, Chef Anthony Dao will be hosting Chef’s Dinners at Ruby June Inn on March 27–28. A few tickets may still be available. (WS)
