Thursday Tidbits

Spring is here, and so are fresh menus and a few Easter treats worth planning for. Here’s what’s happening this week:

Packer Orchards’ Tulip Festival begins today, bringing those first pops of color to the valley. Easter Egg Hunts are set for this weekend at 10 am and 2 pm, and if you pre-ordered pies, pickup is April 3rd and 4th.
Bakery hours: Thursday–Monday, 10 am–5 pm
Farm: Saturday & Sunday, 10 am–5 pm

Apple Valley Country Store has expanded its hours to Wednesday through Sunday—perfect timing for a Marionberry milkshake or something fresh from the bakery.

If you missed Boda’s Kitchen’s Matzoh Ball Soup today, don’t worry—you may find it tucked into their freezer lineup alongside other comforting favorites.

Dani’s Kitchen Shop is back with their annual Easter Cookie Shop this Friday, April 3rd, from 10 am–2 pm (1545 Osprey Dr, Hood River). Expect a full spread of decorated cookies—egg dozens, bunny sleeves, minis—and more, plus jams, canned goods, and local makers including @eastforkbakingco. Walk-ins welcome.

Le Doubblé Troubblé Wine Co. in White Salmon is hosting a tasting tonight from 5–7 pm, featuring Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir from both the Columbia Gorge and Willamette Valley.
They’re also hosting a Spring Fling Rosé release party this Saturday, April 4th, with bratwurst on the grill from 4–8 pm.

Pixan Taqueria in White Salmon is refreshing their seasonal menu and adding a Hamburguesa—a “highbrow take on a lowbrow classic” with American wagyu, bacon, white American cheese, and a pillowy house brioche.

Golden Goods Sandwich Shop is highlighting their veggie burrito with tempeh—captured beautifully by @kellytursophoto. 111 Oak St, Hood River.

Everybody’s Brewing has a fresh round of specials this week: Arugula & Snap Pea Salad, Ribs with Kale Salad & Pickled Relish, and Nashville Pulled Pork Sliders.

Full Sail Brewing’s new Session Japanese Rice Lager has officially joined the rotation—crisp, dry, and easygoing. Pair it with today’s Chicken Banh Mi & Coconut Lentil, or Friday’s Fried Shrimp Po’ Boy & Gumbo.

Kings & Daughters introduces Bijou, a double dry-hopped soft IPA (5.3%) featuring artwork by @kaciemcmackin—spotlighting their French lop bunny, Bijou. Light, springy, and hopped up just a bit more than usual.

And for the wine lovers, April is Gorge Club Share month. Members of participating Gorge wineries can enjoy perks across 23 wineries throughout the month. Pick up a stamp card at any participating winery tasting room and start exploring.

Happy Easter Weekend!
