Fall flavors are rolling in across the Gorge! From new beer releases and seasonal menus to apple picking, pumpkin patches, and fall harvest festivities, there’s plenty to taste and explore this week. Here’s your roundup of what’s fresh, fun, and happening right now.
Freebridge Brewing’s Supper Club is back! The first event will be held on September 30. Join them for an elevated evening with premium wine options, cocktails, and fresh craft beer — including their newest fresh hops West Coast IPA: Yee-hop. 710 E. 2nd St., The Dalles.
pFriem is celebrating fresh hop season with seven new beers plus an exclusive saison. Don’t forget, it’s also pFriemtoberfest this Saturday with Grasslands Barbecue.
Kings & Daughters has two exciting new releases: 5th & Cascade, a New England IPA brewed in collaboration with @trapdoorbrewing, and City Stroll IPA (7%), perfect for sipping in their new beer garden @thewalledgardenpub while people watching. 🚲💙 Oh wait, that’s three exciting releases, add their first fresh hop of the season, Fill Your Cup, to the list.
Grasslands Barbecue has updated hours: open weekends through October, then Saturdays only from November to mid-December. Find them on the Hood River waterfront.
Celilo Restaurant is spicing things up with Shishito peppers paired with Jimmy Nardellos — a sweet Italian frying pepper known for its bright red color and fruity flavor.
Riverside and Riverside Lounge are bringing back a local favorite from decades past: Prime Rib Night! Join them in the lounge Tuesday evenings, 5–9 pm, throughout October and November.
Love and Hominy has brought back their Nashville Taco. Think Nashville hot chicken sando in taco form — with stone-ground slaw, Buffalo sauce, bread + butter pickles, crispy onion, and hot honey.
Solstice is serving up seasonal gems: Look for their Little Gem Wedge Salad featuring Nature’s Finest Farm corn, bacon, cherry tomatoes, and bleu cheese crumbles, plus a hearty corn chowder with Columbia River Coho salmon, potatoes, and cream, served with house-made focaccia. They are also serving corn chowder with fresh local ingredients and don’t forget to try their Dirty Fries during their Happy Hour (Mon. and Wed. through Fri., 2–5 pm).
Working Hands Beer is hosting Pizza Night on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Slow fermented whole wheat sourdough, fresh toppings, all fired together into a perfect sharable pie by Chef José. The fun starts at 4 pm and lasts until the pies are sold out.
Baseline Biscuits is shaking things up with the “Huck it!” cocktail: sparkling huckleberry lemonade, muddled lemon, and vodka with a sugared rim.
Apple season is here! Hood River U-Pick Organic opens Friday, September 19, for U-Pick Organic Honeycrisp apples. Hours: 10 am–5 pm, Friday through Monday.
Packer Orchards’ 🎃 Fall on the Farm kicks off Friday, September 19, and runs through October 26. Stop by for warm apple cider, donuts, a pumpkin patch, and more.
Jacob Williams Winery is inviting guests to stomp grapes on Friday, September 19, from 3–5 pm. Reservations required.
Clyzm Wines is pairing up wine and chocolate at their Friday night event, September 19, from 5–8 pm.
A community shout-out to Gorge Grown Food Network! Record harvests this year mean gleaning season has already rescued 17,000 lbs of local crops with the help of farmers and volunteers, all donated to food banks and hunger relief groups.
