Feast Market, White Salmon, Elote-Style Corn Ribs

Cherry season is here, summer drinks are flowing, and this weekend is packed with live music, local wine, fresh-picked fruit, and plenty of reasons to head outside. Here's what's happening around the Gorge this week.

Dinner & Drinks

Riverside in Hood River has brought back its popular Charred Broccolini, featuring Cascadia Creamery rosemary fondue and grilled semolina bread from White Salmon Baking Company. Pair it with tonight's New York Strip, served with roasted garlic fingerling potatoes, charred broccolini, and chimichurri. If you're a soccer fan, they'll also be showing every live World Cup match in the lounge, with USA matches playing with the sound on.

Tonight's special at Feast Market in White Salmon is Elote-Style Corn Ribs with Chipotle Crema, bringing sweet summer corn together with smoky chipotle and creamy, tangy flavors for one of those specials that probably won't last long.

Need something cold? Summer drink season is officially underway.

10 Speed Coffee Bar in the Hood River Heights has added several refreshing seasonal drinks, including a Hibiscus Tea, Tropical Matcha, and Sweet Cream Cold Brew.

Just down the street, Edeske Patisserie has unveiled a new outdoor parklet—the perfect spot to enjoy one of their sweet treats alongside an iced beverage. They're open Thursday through Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Over at the Hood River waterfront, Solstice Pizza has introduced a new Cocktail for a Cause featuring Lewis & Clark vodka, passionfruit purée, fresh lime, and house-made raspberry syrup. The first 50 cocktails are served with a passionfruit-lemon lollipop for an extra splash of summer.

If wine is more your style, Maryhill Winery is pouring its popular Frosé made with their Rosé of Sangiovese on the terrace in Goldendale, WA.

Beer lovers have a few reasons to celebrate too. Spinning Wheels Brewing Project has brought Forest IPA back to downtown Hood River, while Everybody's Brewing in White Salmon has added several new beers to the lineup, including Greenhouse Guru West Coast IPA and Sol Seeker Mexican-style Lager.

Weekend Food & Wine

Saturday offers a couple of great excuses to spend the afternoon sipping local wine.

The Pines 1852 hosts live music, wine, and light charcuterie on Saturday, June 27, from 4–8 p.m. at The Pines Estate in The Dalles.

That same evening, Le Doubblé Troubblé Wines welcomes back one of its favorite annual traditions as Ben Giant returns to the kitchen serving his famous fried chicken sandwiches beginning at 5 p.m.

Sweet Stop

If you haven't tracked them down yet, Mookie has found a new summer home. The cookie trailer is now parked on the lawn behind Ferment Brewing at the Hood River waterfront, serving chef-crafted cookies, decadent ice cream sandwiches, specialty milks, and even vegan options all summer long.

U-Pick Season Has Arrived

Cherry season is officially in full swing across the Gorge.

Mt. View Orchards is now selling U-pick cherries from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., open daily, 6670 Trout Creek Ridge Rd, Mt Hood.

Hood River U-Pick Organic is open for Bing, Rainier, and Montmorency pie cherry picking, including holidays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Draper Girls Country Farm opens U-pick cherries this Saturday, with Rainier, Bing, and pie cherries ready for picking.

This weekend is also your last chance for U-pick cherries at Evans Fruit in Mosier, where Friday and Saturday wrap up the season with Lapin, Skeena, Benton, and pie cherries still available.

Looking ahead to berry season? Pearl's Place Fruit Stand now has U-pick blackberries available as well.
