Thursday Tidbits

Analemma Wines Pasta alla Analemma

As of Thursday morning, evacuation orders remain in effect due to the Burdoin Fire, which continues to significantly impact local communities and businesses—including several wineries in the evacuation zone, such as Syncline, COR Cellars, and Domaine Pouillon.

Tragically, BARO Wine, a new winery in Lyle that had just opened a little over a month ago, shared in a Monday night post that it lost both its winery and cellar to the fire.

Our hearts are with the town of Lyle and everyone affected. A deep thank you to the firefighters and first responders on the front lines. Please stay safe and take care of yourselves and each other.

Special thanks to Murphy’s Family Watering Hole in Bingen, which has been feeding firefighter teams and serving as a hub for community support, with many donated items available for those in need. If you could use supplies—or would like to contribute—stop by Murphy’s.

We’ll start off with an obvious first choice in tidbits this week:
Find your way to Murphy’s Family Watering Hole for fresh, home style, comfort foods made of house smoked meats, plus burgers, hotdogs, side dishes, soups, sandwiches, and daily specials. Open Thursday through Sunday. 216 W Steuben St., Bingen, WA. Contact them at 509-281-3323.

From there, we’ll steer you toward other parts of the Gorge offering good food and small comforts, like:

🥯 Pine Street Bakery is serving house-made bagels every Thursday and Friday morning—crispy outside, chewy inside, with a tangy, complex sour flavor from their 72-hour fermentation process.
