Thursdays Tidbits

With garden-fresh goodies, golden-hour sips, and sweet summer flavors on the menu, this week brings plenty of reasons to get out and graze your way through the Gorge.
At the Farm:
Reservations are now open at Hiyu Wine Farm for Lunch, Tastings, and Dinner through the end of September. Limited walk-in tastings are also available Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. A recent lunch featured handmade ricotta gnocchi with fava tops and the season’s first shelling peas—harvested straight from the garden just steps away.
Odell Café Update:
New hours are here—and soon, so will evening specials, Wednesday through Friday from 4–8 pm. Full line up: Mon & Tues 5 am – 3 pm; Wed–Fri 5 am – 8 pm; Sat 6 am – 4 pm; Sun 7 am – 2 pm.
On the Waterfront:
Grasslands Barbecue is now open Fridays through Labor Day weekend! Look for new menu additions, including smoked Maitake mushrooms from @columbiamushroom and a Friday-only smoked hanger steak special, cold-smoked and seared over coals, topped with Fresno hot sauce, white onion, and served with grilled flour tortillas.
The Solstice Wood Fire Pizza Café is your cool-down destination: grab a Frosé at the café or the Strawberry Ice Cream Shortcake in a cup from the food truck.
Romeo Gelato is now open for the season! Local raspberries and cherries from Gorge Farmer Collective just dropped—perfect timing for a scoop of farm-fresh gelato.
Ferment Brewing not only welcomes dogs with pup cups, they’re also pouring summer favorites like Hana Pils, 12° Czech Pils, Lost in Fragaria, and Bright West IPA. Grab a spot on the deck and stay awhile.
In the Fields:
Cherry U-pick is still going strong! Visit Evans Fruit in Mosier, plus Draper Girls Country Farm, Packer Orchards, Mt View Orchards, and other stops along the Hood River Fruit Loop before the season ends.
Wine & Music:
Mt. Hood Winery is hosting Sip & Sound Thursdays.
Phelps Creek Vineyards has Tacos & Tunes Tuesdays.
Across the River:
Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon, WA, is serving a summer salad with blood orange vinaigrette, honey-grilled rhubarb, blueberries, and feta—or try the house-made veggie burger with tzatziki, pickled onion, and microgreens on a brioche bun. Both pair perfectly with their Stir It Up Hazy IPA, now on draft and in cans.
Walking Man Brewing in Stevenson, WA, tapped a new beer: Over The Line, a bold 7.4% ABV India Red Ale brewed with Simcoe, Amarillo, and Chinook hops.
Backwoods Brewing in Carson, WA, has Strawberry Island Cream Ale on tap, plus a special on their Mosaic Pale Ale—get a 6-pack for the price of a 4-pack while supplies last.
