Fall flavors around the Gorge
A pear margarita at Love & Hominy
The latest seasonal margarita at Love & Hominy in downtown Hood River leans right into fall. Their Spiced Pear Margarita brings together tequila, lime, pear, ginger, and spice—and it’s already becoming a fan favorite.
A longtime favorite returns at Solstice
Moroccan Beef Stew is back at Solstice Wood Fire Pizza on the Hood River waterfront. They’ve been serving Aaron’s original recipe since 2007—a comforting reason to stop in as the weather cools.
New fall specials at D’Avanzo’s
D’Avanzo’s in The Dalles is welcoming fall with Wild Mushroom Ravioli: fresh pasta filled with mushrooms, pecorino, Parmesan, and ricotta, topped with garlic cream sauce. Also on the specials menu is the Healthy Harvest Salad, with mixed greens, roasted sweet potato, apple, pumpkin seeds, pecans, and goat cheese tossed in balsamic vinaigrette.
Chanterelle season at Riverside
Riverside Restaurant at the Best Western Hood River Inn is making the most of mushroom season. Their chanterelle ragù pairs golden chanterelles with creamy polenta, roasted tomato sauce, sautéed garlic, and a generous pinch of Parmesan.
Meet Peaseblossom at AniChe Cellars
AniChe Cellars is welcoming its 2025 Peaseblossom, an estate sparkling red Dolcetto from Hecate’s Key Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge AVA. This deep ruby wine takes a cue from Lambrusco, with aromas of violet, tangerine, star fruit, and blueberry, followed by notes of apricot brioche, lavender, and citrus peel.
The family farms the vineyard organically using regenerative practices and describes its grapes as LIVE Certified, Pollinator Friendly, and Salmon Safe. Stop by this weekend for a taste. Cook Underwood, WA

Two cultures, two soups at Clyzm Wines
Chef Kesh and Austin are bringing a little friendly competition to Clyzm Wines in White Salmon on Thursday, November 12, from 5–8 p.m. Their Soup Off spotlights Liberia and the Philippines, with each cook sharing flavors and culinary traditions through a different soup. Two cultures, two soups, one delicious showdown.
Whether your weekend calls for costumes and cookies or a warm bowl of something delicious, there’s plenty to find around the Gorge. Happy Halloween!
