Gorges Tortes Snickers Cake

Gorge’s Tortes’ Snickers Cake

This week’s Thursday Tidbits starts with a few standout drinks — one warms you up, one transports you somewhere sunnier, and one’s a little darker — before easing into Valentine’s treats, sweet local finds, and a few events worth penciling into your February calendar.

We’re leaning into cozy winter energy with just enough brightness to remind us that spring isn’t too far off.

Drinks to Set the Mood

Pixan Tacos just rolled out a new cocktail, the Cascade Campfire — a smoky mezcal drink layered with warm spice, a touch of sweetness, and bright citrus to balance it all. As a February bonus, they’re offering 15% off for teachers, staff, and anyone with a faculty ID.

Over at Kickstand Coffee & Kitchen, “Somewhere It’s Summer” delivers exactly the mood shift we’re all craving. Made with serrano vodka, grapefruit, agave, lemon, and a Tajín rim, it’s bright, smoky, and just the thing to break up winter. 📸@mydarling_moon

Ferment Brewing Company is celebrating Stout Month with their Nitro Dry Stout, a wintery, smooth beer inspired by Dublin’s midnight-black ales and the brewmaster’s favorite shift beer. Available on draft and in limited 16-oz nitro cans.

A Love-Filled Evening

Freebridge Brewing is hosting La Dolce Vita Supper Club — a romantic Italian-inspired evening of fine dining and live music on Tuesday, February 10. The menu includes a bruschetta trio, butter lettuce salad with Castelvetrano olives and crispy prosciutto, brasato al Barolo over creamy polenta with citrus gremolata, and a Meyer lemon pie meringue bar to finish.

Sweet Things for Valentine’s Season

Speaking of love-filled…

Edeske Patisserie is offering assorted Valentine’s bonbons and giant chocolate hearts filled with decadent flavors. They’ve also partnered with pFriem Family Brewers for limited-edition tropical chocolate bonbons and tropical pâte de fruit, available all month in both pFriem tasting rooms.

Kailea Coffee Co. has Sweetheart Boxes available, featuring a large drink of choice, a bouquet of flowers, a sweetheart sugar cookie, and a Valentine’s Day card — an easy, thoughtful win.

The Fruit Company has Valentine’s sweets ready to ship. Enjoy 14% off the From the Heart Gift Tower with code LOVE14 at checkout.

Dani’s Kitchen Shop opens its doors February 13, 10 AM–2 PM for a special Valentine’s Cookie Shop featuring decorated heart cookies, sweet treats, and gifts from local artists.

Gorge’s Tortes is taking pre-orders for handcrafted Valentine’s cakes made with real fruit and lots of love. Classic and heart-shaped designs are available in limited quantities.

Riverside Restaurant refreshed its dessert menu, which now includes Pear & Apple Pie, Red Velvet Cake, Citrus Cheesecake, and an Almond Brittle Basket.

Markets & Happy Hours

The Be My Valentine Night Market lands at Thunder Island Brewing on February 11, 5–8 PM. Grab a beer and peruse 10 local artisans inside the tent.

The Hood River Farmers Market is happening Saturday, February 7. Look for Tajín-dried pears and apples from The Farmer in Odell, fresh produce from Oakrose Farm, and artisan foods from @bssweetshoodriver and @bran_and_ash, plus plenty more.

Solstice Wood Fire Pizza has shared new happy hour hours and a tempting lineup: Chef’s Fries, $10 Margherita pizzas, and $9 Aperol Spritzes every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2–5 PM (excluding holidays).

Fresh & Local

Sunrise Juice Bar now offers a Mini Açai Bowl with two fruits, two toppings, and honey. Same quality, just a smaller portion — great for kids, first-timers, or a lighter bite.

Looking Ahead

Grasslands Barbecue will reopen at the Hood River waterfront Saturday, March 21 — mark those calendars now.

A small glimpse of early spring is on the horizon. Until then, keep cozy and enjoy a little extra sweetness this week. ❤️ We thank you for following along!
